Job Description:
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband
access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth
orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to
unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project
Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast,
affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including
consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations
operating in places without reliable connectivity. This role is for
a highly dynamic and motivated individual that will work with
manufacturing engineers to construct instructions and processes for
technicians performing test operations. The Test Engineer will
support both development and production testing of satellites, and
their subsystems. The focus for this role will be in dynamics
testing - both vibration table and acoustics. You will work with
the designers, systems engineers and analysts to construct detailed
work instructions for technicians performing environmental test
operations. This role will be responsible for supporting the test
team to ensure that tests are conducted in compliance with industry
standards as well as internal work instructions. This includes
reviewing post-test data, and performing root cause corrective
actions for any failures. This position will have the opportunity
to collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead process and lab
improvement projects. Key job responsibilities - This position will
work a 4x10 schedule, Wednesday to Saturday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM -
Operate test consoles and work with engineering and technician
teams to conduct dynamic testing - Review test plans and write work
instructions for technicians to set up and execute testing -
Analyze post test data and have the ability to write test reports
of any non-compliant or off-nominal events - Review failure events
and be able to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective
actions - Assess safe working conditions and write Job Hazard
Analyses for work areas - Ability and desire to work in a hands-on
lab environment - Project management skills to accomplish technical
projects that span cross functional teams - Establish and increase
the efficiency of environmental test processes to maximize output
and enable products to rapidly transition from engineering
development to rate production - Establish production processes for
5S, FOD control, tool management, calibration procedures and visual
management of production tooling and equipment - Enable production
test autonomy by challenging requirements, simplifying work
procedures, and automating actions Export Control Requirement: Due
to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must
be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e.,
current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a
refugee or granted asylum. A day in the life The Lab Engineer will
assist in development and production satellite manufacturing in the
environmental test domain. This position will join the team at an

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace
engineering, or equivalent - 2 years hands-on environmental test
experience, vibration, shock, acoustic in compliance with
MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, or MIL-STD-1540 - 2 years working with Data
Acquisition systems - Familiar with installing test instrumentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience running force limited
vibration testing - Experience running Direct Field Acoustic
Testing - Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings -
Familiarity with ICP/IEPE accelerometers, strain gauges, and Force
sensors. - Experience with MP, Kistler, or Vibration Research
software and DAS - Experience with creating automated scripts
(Python, Matlab, LabVIEW or similar) - Experience with SAP or other
Manufacturing Execution System for work instruction authoring -
Basic automation experiences (python or similar) - Experience
commissioning and troubleshooting test equipment - Demonstrated

the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base
pay for this position ranges from $89,500/year in our lowest
geographic market up to $189,900/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market
location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
