Software Engineering Manager - Apple Services Engineering (ASE) / iCloudLocation: Seattle, Washington, United StatesJoin Apple to work on the Private Cloud Compute Platform. We seek a candidate with a strong background in network protocols, security, client-server architectures, and distributed systems. Your role will involve building server stacks for private configuration, authentication, authorization, and request processing. You will design system architectures, specify custom network protocols, and develop high-performance, scalable code to support hundreds of millions of users.Collaborate with teams across Cupertino, Seattle, and London, passionate about engineering and privacy. • Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of relevant experience
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed systems and networking protocols
• Strong focus on security and privacy-first design
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and resourcefulness skills
• Ability to collaborate across functions through effective communication
• Curiosity and ability to learn independently
• Self-direction to drive projects from conception to production
• User-focused mindset, prioritizing data privacy and user experience
• Strong software engineering skills and ability to mediate technical debates
• Experience with hiring and leading engineering teamsPreferred Qualifications
  • Languages: Java, Swift
  • Knowledge in Networking Protocols, Security, Cryptography (TLS, cryptographic chain of trust, data encryption, Key Transparency, end-to-end encryption)Apple offers a competitive total compensation package, including base salary, stock options, benefits, and opportunities for growth. The salary range for this role is $208,300 to $360,200, depending on experience and location.Employees are eligible for stock programs, discounts, educational reimbursement, and other benefits.
