Job Description:
You will define and execute programs that improve measurement of
ads performance. Whether the advertiser is a multi billion dollar
brand or a fledgling seller, when they need to assess return on
their investment in ads, they use our metrics. Such metrics have
significant business & technical ambiguity, and organizational
complexity. We are looking for a leader who knows how to deliver
results in the face of such challenges. Our space is internet scale
measurement. We work closely with scientists (applied and/or data)
and PM-Ts to invent measurement techniques, and turn them into
scope we can deliver, then deliver it on time. It’s a high
ambiguity field, which requires understanding of business, a
complex technical landscape and constraints of measurement
techniques, e.g. privacy regulation or limits caused by data
sparsity. Our end product is data. We end up building data
pipelines. This is a high pace environment, because we're inventing
on behalf of all Amazon advertisers, who have diverse and evolving
needs. Its also high impact, because our measurement is the primary
guide of a multi billion dollar spend. Key job responsibilities 1.
Set up the team. Organize a cross org initiative, often dealing
with people outside of your reporting chain. Identify who needs to
be involved and why, convince them to join or support, drive
alignment with them on scope and dates. Drive plan creation and
ensure plans are realistic. 2. Build mechanisms for execution,
which result in effective communication. Provide clear, actionable
status reporting. Organize mechanisms for teams to communicate,
surface status, report it quickly and consistently. 3. Identify and
manage risks. Starting with inception, and proceeding to execution.
React to them quickly, and come up with the right mitigations.
Bring clarity, even if it ruffles feathers. Drive informed
escalations when things go off the rails. 4. Identify ways to
improve the software. Influence people to do it. About the team
We're passionate, opinionated, yet respectful and supportive. We
start with the data and end with the data. We make an assumption of
