How will you make an impact in this role?The Engineering &
Maintenance Manager is located onsite at our Renton, WA facility,
reporting to the General Manager. As an Engineering & Maintenance
Manager, you will play a crucial role in the leadership of the
maintenance team while overseeing the maintenance, installation and
repair of all machinery, infrastructure, and facilities. You will
be responsible for optimizing resource allocation(s) to ensure
budgetary goals are met and maximize machine uptime. Additionally,
you will plan and supervise the maintenance of buildings,
facilities and grounds to ensure operation efficiency and safety. A
Day in the Life:
- Team Leadership
- Participates in Plant Leadership Teams, Safety Committees, and
Security Teams to enhance operations and safety.
- Coordinates and supervises maintenance staff, assisting as
needed.
- Trains production personnel on preventive maintenance and
equipment care.
- Fosters team collaboration and open communication.
- Manages overtime for maintenance staff within the budget.
- Ensures maintenance technicians have the training, equipment,
and motivation to perform safely and efficiently.
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises department personnel,
providing coaching and discipline as needed.
- Maintenance & Project Management
- Leads capital projects, including new equipment installations
and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develops and manages a Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Oversees maintenance activities, ensuring timely repairs.
- Maintains records of repairs and PM audits, assessing equipment
effectiveness.
- Updates the CMMS to track work orders, parts, and maintenance
history.
- Conducts daily inspections to identify and address maintenance
needs.
- Monitors plant equipment to reduce downtime and implement
proactive solutions.
- Investigates facility failures, escalating unresolved
issues.
- Manages inventory of supplies and spare parts within
budget.
- Identifies and addresses quality issues, documenting and
verifying corrective actions.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Collaborate with departmental supervisors, managers, scheduling
teams, and equipment manufacturers to plan repairs and minimize
production delays.
- Collaborates with the Environmental Coordinator and Executive
Management to meet all city, county, state, and federal regulatory
requirements.
- Respond to and communicate issues and emergency breakdowns with
leadership team
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepares and coordinates documentation for compliance with
external regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate fire insurance company inspections and reviews
approved recommendations with the Safety Coordinator.
- Ensures compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Adheres to and promotes safe work practices and industry
standards.
- Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with safety and
environmental policies and procedures. Qualifications What does it
take to be successful in this role?Basic Qualifications
- 3-5 years' proven experience in repairing and maintaining
processing equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, hazardous materials handling,
and waste management procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software for
drawing development.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software programs.
- Strong understanding of PLC systems, controls, drives, and
robotics.
- Strong leadership and planning skills, with the ability to
supervise and coordinate maintenance activities effectively.
- Basic mathematical proficiency and the ability to accurately
read a ruler.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical
schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in computer systems and applications relevant to
maintenance operations.
- Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical and
electrical issues. Preferred Requirements Our teammates come from

- Engineering degree
- In-depth knowledge of a folding a carton/litho printing plant
is a strong asset. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and
catwalks.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, high-noise
environments, and dusty conditions.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and chemicals
