Alaska Airlines is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Analytics and Strategy Team. This team supports workgroups by applying advanced analytics on large and diverse datasets to predict operational performance and craft business strategies across various initiatives.Role SummaryThe Business Intelligence Analyst operates in a fast-paced team responsible for data analysis, demand modeling, research, optimization, project management, and solution design/delivery. The BI team translates strategy into analytical experiments and models that provide insights into business problems, aligning performance with strategic goals, action plans, KPIs, and progress metrics. The team also develops systems and tools for decision support, enabling leadership to make informed strategic decisions. Visualizations grounded in statistical best practices are essential for effective communication of findings.Key DutiesAt the intermediate level (P2), you will analyze data, recommend problem-solving approaches, and propose solutions to complex business problems. At the senior level (P3), as a subject matter expert, you will apply deep knowledge, exercise judgment on ambiguous challenges, and influence decisions across the company.Job-Specific Experience, Education & SkillsRequired

• 2 years of analytical experience or related area
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, business, computer science, or engineering, or 2 additional years of relevant training/experience
• Knowledge of BI functions: analytics, data mining, reporting, data cleansing, data modeling, relational databases
• Advanced SQL skills
• Experience working with disparate data sources and data blending
• Proficiency in dashboard design, charting, and report automation
• Applied statistics and probability experience
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams
• Data-driven mindset and commitment to self-development
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum age of 18
• Authorized to work in the U.S.Additional for Senior Level (P3)
  • 4 years of analytical experience or related area
  • Expertise in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Modeling skills in cluster analysis and linear regression
  • Knowledge of descriptive/statistical testing, sampling, residuals analysis, ANOVA, hypothesis testing
